This Day in History: 2021-01-26

The Australia Day WA Community Citizen Awards were presented by the Shire of Toodyay, this year, under a marquee on the grass of the new Toodyay Recreation Centre, located behind the Toodyay District High School. The Community Citizen of the Year – Youth (under 25 years of age) Award joint winners were Willow Hitches and Kyla Browne. The Community Citizen of the Year – Senior (over 65 years of age) was awarded to John Lucas, with Donald Anderson and Kaye Rewell the other worthy nominees. The Community Citizen of the Year was Ian MacGregor, with Carolynne Haigh, Sarah Otremba and Sean Byron the other nominees. There were no nominations for the Community Group or Event category.
