This Day in History: 2015-09-12
The 20th anniversary of the commencement of the AvonLink train services between Northam and Midland was celebrated at the Toodyay Railway Station. Local and shire dignitaries observed Shane Love, MLA, Moore, unveil a plaque to commemorate the occasion, noting the strong support the National Party has given to the service, including Max Trenorden’s work in establishing and maintaining the service. David Whiteford launched his book A history of the AvonLink train service at the celebration. Cheryl Wiltshire was the chair of the Toodyay AvonLink Supporters Group.
