This Day in History: 2015-09-11

At the Keep Australia Beautiful WA Tidy Town Awards held at the Royal Perth Yacht Club, Toodyay was a finalist in the three Award Categories of Natural Environmental Conservation, Heritage and Culture and Young Legends, and was announced the winner of the Young Legends Category. At the commencement of the event, Her Excellency the Hon. Kerry Sanderson AO, presented commemorative trophies to the four Australian Tidy Towns Title winners: Denmark (1998), Wyalkatchem (2003), Collie (2006) and Toodyay (2015). Greg Warburton, Chairman of the Toodyay Tidy Towns Committee, recited one of his special poems, entitled ‘Plenty tidy’.
