This Day in History: 2013-09-14

2013 September 14-15: A team from the University of Western Australia conducted a ground-penetrating radar survey of the Aboriginal Burial Reserve on the Hockey Field in the Toodyay Showgrounds. Shire of Toodyay staffer Kim Angus had arranged with the survey organiser, Clem Rodney, of the South-West Aboriginal Land and Sea Council, for Toodyay Historical Society members to be permitted to observe the proceedings. This also proved beneficial for the team given the showery weather over the weekend and the proximity of THS’s Research Centre in Donegan’s Cottage and its facilities. The team had to regularly recharge the equipments’ batteries.
