This Day in History: 2000-12-21

The Toodyay Community Centre, on Stirling Terrace, was officially opened at 9.30am, on the site of the former Toodyay Railway Station. ABC Radio conducted an outside broadcast from 6am to 8am for its breakfast program.  The TCC was funded by WA Children & Family Services ($500,000 grant), the Shire of Toodyay ($225,000), Lotterywest ($225,000) and the Health Dept. ($40,000). Spadaccini Bros. of Northam were the builders.
