This Day in History: 1997-07-18

The official launch of the WA Home Loans Toodyay Picnic Races was held at the Belmont Race Course, Perth. Horse racing was due to return to Toodyay after an absence of 7 years, on 12 October as part of the Toodyay Festival. Leon Bradley was the President of the Toodyay Race Club and Maxine Robertson the Secretary.
