This Day in History: 1997-06-26

The Toodyay Branch of the Country Women’s Association of Western Australia celebrated its 70th Anniversary. Special guests were the State CWA President Mrs Barbara Kelly, the Shire President Adrian Bolton and Mrs. Lyn Bolton, and Divisional Secretary Mrs. Beryl Lawler. The oldest Toodyay CWA member Miriam Geary cut the cake. She had been a member for 69 years. The Toodyay District High School choir sang at the event. A certificate was presented to Toodyay CWA President Lyn Hammer.
