This Day in History: 1996-10-31

In the Government House ballroom, Premier Richard Court presented the Toodyay Naturalists’ Club with the John Tonkin Bushland Conservation Award. The club was also a finalist in the Community Group Award, having been nominated by Max Trenorden, Member for Avon. Wayne Clarke was a finalist in the Individual Endeavour Award.
