The WA Minister for Transport, the Hon. Eric Charlton MLC, officially opened the Toodyay Miniature Railway by unveiling a plaque at the Miniature Railway Station in Duidgee Park, Toodyay. ‘Jamie the Steamer’ hauled six carriages of dignitaries and invited guests. Moondyne Joe (alias Madman Mark and Mark Poole) and his partner (Les Lee) held up the train. Regular runs commenced on 8 September, once the TMR was incorporated.
