This Day in History: 1995-12-21

At a public meeting held in Toodyay, it was decided that the local community would hold a folk festival in Toodyay in 1996. The West Australian Folk Federation (WAFF) had decided at its AGM on 27 November that it would no longer run this annual event, but would support a local effort.  Subsequent local meetings and investigations occurred, led by Lyn Johnson and John Pearce, during which a Toodyay Festival was planned for the following year.
