This Day in History: 1995-11-06
John O’Dea chaired a public meeting held in the Sports Pavilion in the Toodyay Showgrounds to discuss the funding for the proposed Toodyay Sports and Recreation Centre [proposed Toodyay & Districts Recreation Centre], the sports and recreation survey results and the feasibility study. The meeting was attended by 39 people. A steering committee was formed, with John O’Dea as Chairman and Geraldine Henshaw as Secretary. It was reported that the Toodyay Shire Council appeared not to have popular support for a fully developed recreation centre and indoor swimming pool.
