This Day in History: 1995-10-09
The state Geographical Names Committee accepted the name Donkey Crossing for a newly designated public road off the Northam-Toodyay Road to serve properties on the southern side of the Standard Gauge railway line then owned by Messrs. Rendell, Zimmerman and Norgard. It was recorded that the lessee of the crown land used to run donkeys on the property for many years hence the name.
