This Day in History: 1995-07-30
A LEAP (Landcare and Environment Action Programme) team of unemployed young people commenced their work on establishing the Toodyay Miniature Railway in Duidgee Park. The Shire of Toodyay and the Westrek Foundation sponsored this year’s Programme. Ten young people had signed up. John O’Dea was the Project Co-ordinator. Project Support Worker was Greg Cook, assisted by rail enthusiast Barry Pearce.
