This Day in History: 1995-04-13

The first community fund-raising event for the proposed Toodyay & Districts Recreation Centre (and pool) was held at the Old Gaol Museum, on Clinton Street. A wine and cheese evening with live music was held on Good Friday’s eve, with wines supplied by Coorinja Winery, Toodyay, and Avonbrook Wines, Clackline. An old fashioned wishing well was officially opened with the funds being directed to the Toodyay & Districts Recreation Centre Fundraising Reserve Fund. Dave McGinley reported on the evening and related fund-raising activities.
