This Day in History: 1994-10-15

The 141st (actually the 136th) Agricultural Show in the Toodyay Showgrounds was opened by the Hon. Judi Moylan MP, Federal Member for Pearce. The new layout of the grounds due to the recent upgrade and expansion by the Shire of Toodyay contributed to the success of the day. Sideshows were relocated behind the Sheep Pavilion and along the back of Donegan’s Cottage, allowing the trade exhibits to relocate to the Hockey Field. Gate takings and the Lee Steere Pavilion exhibits were up but the stock exhibits continued their declining trend. The President of the Toodyay Agricultural Society was Charles Wroth and the Secretary/Treasurer was Jennifer Scott.
