This Day in History: 1994-06-18
The newly installed late Victorian working-model flour mill display in Connor’s Mill (the Toodyay Tourist Centre), was officially opened by Federal MP David Jull, the Shadow Minister for Tourism and Aviation, accompanied by Judi Moylan MP, Federal Member for Pearce. An idea of Peter Chiffings, Manager of the Toodyay Tourist Centre, the machinery came from Thomas’ Flour Mill (later Weston Milling), Northam. Monty and Maxine Piesse recreated the living quarters at the top of the mill, where they were born some 70 years before.
