This Day in History: 1993-11-09

A revitalised Toodyay Tourist Centre held a well attended ‘Tourism in Toodyay’ public forum evening at the Freemasons’ Hotel, Toodyay, in a bid to lift tourism in Toodyay. Guest speakers included Graeme Vallacott (Hotham Valley Railway), Judi Moylan MP and Rick Suermont (WA Tourism Commission).  Developing historic sites, generating income and becoming self supporting were the major directions the attendees identified. Local businesses and residents were encouraged to become members of the Tourist Centre.
