This Day in History: 1993-06-27

Another P & C Fire Relief Appeal event was the Back to Toodyay Day at the Toodyay Racecourse, co-ordinated by Jo and Glyn Harrington. Originally the idea was to have a school reunion day, but it turned into a general returning to Toodyay by approximately 1,000 people. Braving wind and rain, they bought souvenir tea towels, badges and fridge magnets, commemorative port and burnt bricks and hand-turned wooden biros from wood salvaged from the school. The amount raised was $6,000.
