This Day in History: 1993-01-26

The care/respite centre known as Moerlina was opened by Shire President Bob Somers in the Uniting Church Hall, Duke Street, Toodyay. The purpose of this once-a-week programme was to offer interest and care to persons living independently, as well as giving respite to people caring for elderly or handicapped relatives in their homes. Toodyay Meals on Wheels would provide lunch during the 10am to 2pm meeting. Margaret Hoft was the co-ordinator.
