This Day in History: 1992-10-10
The 139th (actually the 134th) Toodyay Agricultural Show was a great success. The gatekeepers wore new aprons. An interesting new section was Inventors, while section name changes included horticulture to floriculture and woodturning to woodcraft. Max Trenorden MP, Member for Avon, opened the Show and the City of Wanneroo Pipe Band provided the marching music but there were no marching girls. The Shire of Toodyay Art Award was won by Spencer Walsh. Hugo Hamersley was still the President of the Toodyay Agricultural Society and Jennifer Scott was still the Secretary/Treasurer. Alison Cook was Toodyay’s Miss Show Girl.
