1992 September 25-28: The Stan Hastings Encouragement Award, in memory of folk musician Stan Hastings who had died at the W.A. Folk Festival at Toodyay in 1983, was inaugurated by the West Australian Folk Federation at the 22^nd W.A. Folk Festival in Toodyay. The award was sponsored by local businesses.
