This Day in History: 1990-12-01

1990 December: The Toodyay District High School won the Keep Australia Beautiful (WA) Tidy Town School Award in their category. Their activities were many: a litter drive (on 28 September), recycling, compost making, Ribbons of Blue Avon River project, poetry writing, ecology, agriculture, removing riverbank weeds, and building a school nursery with a Greening Australia grant. School gardener Terry Tompkin was thanked for his efforts.
