This Day in History: 1990-09-09

The Toodyay Lions Club launched the Toodyay Yacht Club for the purposes of fundraising and fun.  Bill Wright was the inaugural Commodore, at the event hosted by Les and Margaret Hoft, at their bed and breakfast establishment Appleton House, on Julimar Road. The Yacht Club signed up 58 members and the Lions raised $1,000 for the Avon Hospice.
