Toodyay was appraised for the Keep Australia Beautiful Council (W.A.) Tidy Towns competition, receiving a 2 star rating, the same result as 1989.  The judges reported that the litter bins needed maintenance.  “Overall presentation of Town: Consideration should be given to some beautification of the main street, together with painting of litter bins in some areas of town. Many parts of the residential area show much care and pride in presentation; if this outlook were to be extended throughout the total area of Toodyay, it could be one of the show-place towns of WA.”
