This Day in History: 1990-07-21

A Companions of the Earth Group had its first informal meeting at 589 Church Gully Road, Toodyay, planting 960 trees (mostly Tagasaste or Tree Lucerne, as a windbreak) on Convenor Tariel Adeley’s property. The group’s aims included establishing a network of neighbours helping each other, improving the environment, labour exchange, and growing and bartering environmentally friendly produce.
