This Day in History: 1990-03-25
A group of concerned Toodyay residents met at Butterly Cottage, on Harper Street, Toodyay, to discuss the future of the 1879 building, after the Shire Council had voted against the recommendation of the Principal Health/Building Surveyor, Ron Woodward, to apply for funding from the WA Heritage Commission for a formal architectural evaluation. Dr. Kingsley Dixon, a member of the Landscape and Environment Committee of the National Trust (WA) attended the meeting to show his support. At the April Council meeting, the Shire Council unanimously agreed to support the restoration of the building.
