This Day in History: 1989-10-14
Wintery wet conditions did not deter people from attending the 136th (actually 131st) Toodyay Agricultural Show, held at the Toodyay Showgrounds. The Kalamunda Pipe Band, marching and pony and camel rides were only some of the many attractions. In the photography section, Jim Masters, of Glen Avon on the Northam-Toodyay Road, won the David Pitcher Trophy for the best nature photo. Robert Hamersley was still the President of the Toodyay Agricultural Society and Lee Johnson was the new Secretary.
