This Day in History: 1989-05-07

The inaugural Toodyay Visitors’ Day held in Toodyay was a great success. The Hotham Valley Tourist Railway’s Steam Explorer Train brought 640 passengers, and many others came under their own steam, to listen to the Mazenod College Swing Band and admire the arts and crafts show. The event was organised by Peter Brunt, Manager of the Toodyay Tourist Centre, as a tourism public relations exercise.
