1988 September 24-26: At the 18th WA Folk Festival in Toodyay, a craft village was presented for the first time. Yvonne Henderson MLA, WA Minister for the Arts, officially opened the Festival in the Toodyay Memorial Hall, and commended the West Australian Folk Federation (WAFF) for its support of folk traditions and the involvement of many ethnic groups.
