This Day in History: 1988-08-01

Roger Montgomery commenced a 2-month Folk Residency, funded by grants from the Dept. for the Arts and the Australia Council, with the aim of writing a play for the Folk Festival in September. The Toodyay Shire Council provided free use of the Toodyay Memorial Hall for meetings, rehearsals and performances.  The project was the the idea of Graham Smith, of the Avon Valley Arts Society.
