This Day in History: 1988-05-01

The Toodyay Society’s Craft in Action display was held in conjunction with the Moondyne Festival in the Toodyay Memorial Hall, attracting over 650 visitors. A special feature was the display of the Bicentennial Project of the Rag Bags Patchwork Group:  a large applique wall-hanging depicting many of Toodyay’s old buildings. Nineteen members (aged 28 to 72 years) put it together, under the guiding hand of designer Jenny Allen, and took six months to complete
