This Day in History: 1988-05-01

The 4th Moondyne Festival was held in Toodyay, after a year’s break. The colonial fair featured a float parade, a wheelbarrow race and a fun run, with musical entertainment provided by the Christ Church Grammar School Orchestra and the Royal Australian Naval Reserve Band. At the debriefing afterwards, it was suggested that the Festival should return to its origins, and local folk be encouraged to dress in colonial dress.
