This Day in History: 1988-03-30

The Toodyay Society was concerned to ensure that it contributed to the development of the Special Design Control Precinct Guidelines during the year. On 30 March, Doug Vickery reported on a Shire public meeting about these Historic Precinct guidelines being prepared by architect Ian Hocking. There was a move by some (including two Councillors) against retaining the Toodyay precinct.
