This Day in History: 1987-10-07

1987 October: The Toodyay Shire Council had agreed to assist with a Bicentennial Project to add names to the Toodyay War Memorial on Anzac Avenue, which was projected to cost $6,000. Joseph C. (Mac) Wroth, Chairman of the Bicentennial Committee, had a preliminary list of 197 names of Toodyay service men and women who served in the World War 2, and the Korean and Vietnam Wars, was published in the Toodyay Herald. A list of donations ($2,800) received to date was also published.
