Toodyay was judged for the Tidy Towns competition. The Toodyay Tidy Towns Committee and its Secretary Pam Masters had been active throughout the year encouraging residents to make their town tidy and litter-free. However, Toodyay did not fare that well, with a score of 705 out of 1000 points. The judge commented on the pleasing visual impact of the new Ampol service station at the southern approach to town.
