This Day in History: 1985-08-31

A formal Youth Ball, organised by the Toodyay International Youth Year Committee, was held in the Toodyay Memorial Hall. Belle and Beau of the Ball were Kate McDermott and Robert Thorne. Greg Stephenson from the Toodyay Sporting and Recreation Federation presented the I.Y.Y. Citizenship and Sport Awards at the Ball. The winners were: Citizenship (12-17 years): Veronica Hammill; Citizenship (18-25 years): David Hutchison; Sports (12-17 years): Kim Rewell; Sports (18-25 years): Michael Geary.
