This Day in History: 1985-06-18
Sponsored by the Toodyay Shire Council, a public meeting was held at the Memorial Hall, which recommended that the Toodyay Shire Council assess the cultural and recreational needs of the Toodyay community and acquire or erect a building to cater for those needs. The meeting was originally to be held to discuss the possible purchase of the Avondown Christian Centre for community use. However the Sisters of Mercy had withdrawn the complex from sale.
