This Day in History: 1983-07-26

An Avon River flood peaked in Toodyay. The West Toodyay Bridge was engulfed for the first time in 20 years. A section of the Goomalling-Toodyay Road bridge (now named Connor Bridge) at Toodyay sank about 6 inches. The flood level was higher than the 1964 flood but lower than the 1974 flood.
