This Day in History: 1979-10-13
The 126th Toodyay Show sported a Way ’79 theme. A special museum, of Toodyay Show historical items, was to be set up in Parker’s Cottage. The Toodyay Cattle Breeders’ Association mounted an exhibition of 12 cattle breeds. The Avonayres Marching Girls featured in the Grand Parade before the Show opening. The St. John Ambulance Association Toodyay Sub-Centre had the winning float. A photographic exhibition, created and arranged by Ray Paynter and Dawn Atwell, was mounted in the Lee Steere Pavilion.
