This Day in History: 1977-09-17

At the beginning of Toodyay’s Tidy Town Week, a colourful banner painted by veteran signwriter James (Jim) Hassell, depicting Tidy Town Week, was erected over the main street Stirling Terrace in the morning. Then, 30 children and 15 adults commenced cleaning all streets and approaches to town. The event was organized by the Keep Toodyay Beautiful Committee and the staff of the Toodyay District High School.
