This Day in History: 1976-02-07
During this year, a unique program involving the school and the community had been introduced at the Toodyay District High School. The program, developed by teacher Tibor Kobulniczky with a $2,465 special grant from the Schools Commission, enabled parents or interested persons to teach their skills to Year 5 to 7 students. The volunteers teach small groups for a few periods each week. Skills taught included playing the organ, chess, embroidery, cookery, woodwork, and oil painting. The headmaster at the time was John Broadbent.
