This Day in History: 1973-09-29

The Lord Mayor of Perth and Hawthornden property owner, Ernest H. Lee Steere, unveiled a plaque commemorating botanist James Drummond Snr. and the Drummond Memorial Garden at the Reservoir Hill Lookout in Pelham Reserve. The plaque installation was an idea proposed by the Toodyay Naturalists’ Club with the support and assistance of the Toodyay Shire Council. The rock cairn and surrounds was built by Mr. D. Speciale.
