This Day in History: 1971-11-08

A public meeting attended by 41 people was held in the Toodyay Shire Council Chambers for the purpose of forming a community committee to advise Council on matters relating to preservation of historical buildings and the development of tourist potential.

The meeting was chaired by Shire President Ian Vincent Murray. The new committee was named the Toodyay Historical and Tourism Committee (abbreviated to Histour).
