1969 November: The former Avon Valley Army Training Area in the Morangup area of the Shire of Toodyay was divided into a 9,764 acre Flora and Fauna Reserve (ie the Moondyne Nature Reserve), a 12,052 acre National Park (ie the Avon Valley National Park), and a 12,710 acre Forestry Reserve.
