This Day in History: 1969-06-15

The first ‘through’ Trans Australian passenger train using the Standard Gauge Railway arrived in Perth from Port Pirie, South Australia. This marked the end of The Westland train that travelled on the narrow gauge link from Perth to Kalgoorlie. The new train service did not stop in Toodyay.
