This Day in History: 1969-03-23
A public meeting was convened at the Newcastle Hotel on Stirling Terrace, with the object of forming a branch of the Australian Labor Party in Toodyay. About 30 people were addressed by the Leader of the Opposition John Tonkin. Mr. Alec Thurman was elected President and Mr. H. Ingham, Secretary.
