This Day in History: 1968-09-01

1968 September: One of Toodyay’s old two-storey buildings, the Boarding House (former Monger’s Store), was demolished during the week to make way for the new ‘Avon River Bridge’. The building on Harper Road had been used as a store, a private residence for the Davey family, and as a boarding house for local factory workers.  Its last use was as a private boarding house.
