This Day in History: 1968-01-31

A new section of the Industrial Extracts Ltd plant at Toodyay was opened in the presence of Minister for Industrial Development the Hon. Charles Court. Owning company Plaimar Ltd. board members were present for the inspection tour. Chairman of directors Mr. A.M. Plaistow was present. The new section contained new plant for use in the tanning extract process (70-80% of the production), to enable the production of an extract of greater purity, which was more attractive to overseas markets.
