Approximately 275 parishioners and friends, many of them from other centres had gathered to see the new hall opened, which had been built in 3 months at a cost of £4,500. Leo Ayling made a short speech thanking the Archbishop, Rev. Mark Kirby, Ron Turner, the Toodyay Shire Council and J.C. ‘Mac’ Wroth.
