This Day in History: 1963-10-12

Facilities at the Toodyay Showgrounds had been much improved for the 1963 Show, with a new wool pavilion. The removal of the old liquor booth allowed a more open viewing of the ring. The Secretary’s office had been relocated alongside the main pavilion and convenient to the whole grounds.  Toodyay enjoyed a full day’s holiday on the Saturday, an arrangement in the past two years that allowed the staging of a full-day show. The refreshment pavilion was conducted as a cafeteria to improve patron service.
